NBPL Foundation has produced this fundraiser for the past 4 years.  Lead time is approximately 3 months to print invitations, address labels, order books to be given away by a drawing of those who donate.  Invitations were mailed out 1 month before the "date" of the ball, asking donors to send in their contributions.  Made about $5,000 profit this year.  The insert in the invitations says:  "Mail a donation, stay home and read a book!  this will be the best event you won't attend!  Don't get dressed up, don't hire a baby-sitter, don't stay out too late, but do enjoy a good book and make a tx deductible donation to the New Braunfels Public Library Foundation."  The inside of the invitations reads:  " The New Braunfels Public Library Foundation requests the pleasure of your participation in the Fourth Annual Stay Home and Read a Book Ball to benefit the New Braunfels Public Library during National Library Week  April 6-12, 2003 at any time o'clock, wherever you are!"
